Adobong Manok



The trademark of Filipino cuisine "adobo". An original Filipino recipe but according to the history its original name is not adobo but when the Spaniards conquered the Philippines they encountered this cooking process of stewing the ingredients/meat with vinegar which has similarity to their adobo, so since then they called the dish adobo.

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo chicken
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
5 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon crushed peppercorn  (pamintang durog)
1 tablespoon of peppercorn
1 teaspoon hot chili pepper powder

Procedure:
1. Saute the garlic
2. Add the chicken and soy sauce cover it and simmer, until the chicken meat darkens with the soy sauce color. Mix it well
3. Put the rest of the ingredients, cover well, and simmer for few minutes
4. Stirring occasionally until it is done.
5.  Serve with rice.
