Fried Egg with Celery

I was almost my dinner time and I was so hungry shopping from  Japanese stores. I bought lots of cooking stuffs that I am going to use for my weekend cooking. "I am so hungryyyyyy" I shouted kiddingly, no leftover food from lunch, so I just grabbed the eggs and chopped some celery, after eating I said wow that's a good one, celery goes well with egg. Here is the simple recipe for it.

Ingredients:
2 beaten eggs
1/4 cup chopped celery
salt and pepper to taste
Celery

Procedure:
1. Combine all the ingredients.
2. Heat the oil, then fry the egg.
3.Serve when done.

Palabok ( Mama Sita's Recipe)


A friend of mine send me a Mama Sita's palabok mix that's why I cooked this recipe. Very simple and easy because I just follow the procedure from the packet :D. I used sotanghon ( transparent noodles) because bihon ( rice noodles) is not available in my place.

Ingredients:
200 grams sotanghon or bihon (boiled according to packaging procedure then drained)
200 grams shrimps ( deshelled and sauted in garlic)
2 hard boiled eggs
2 cans smoked tuna
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup mince spring onion
1 big packet Mama Sita's palabok mix ( dissolved in 3 cups water)
some of the ingredients

Procedure:
1. Saute the garlic and onion then add the smoked fish let simmer.
2. Add the dissolved Mama Sita's Palabok Mix then simmer until the sauce thickens, turn off the heat and set aside.
3. In a serving platter arrange all the ingredients, put the pre-cooked sotanghon first.
4. Top it with the sauce and and put the rest of the garnishing ingredients, arrange well for a better presentation. :)

Sotanghon Guisado



Sotanghon guisado is one of the easiest sotanghon recipe that you can try. You can use different ingredients for this and be creative as you can. I just make the simple and I used the ingredients available during the time when I am cooked this.Try this complete meal for the whole family.
Ingredients:
1/4 kilo cellophane noodles ( sotanghon)
1/4 kilo shrimps ( deshelled)
1/4 kilo cabbage ( sliced into strips)
1 carrot ( sliced into strips)
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
10 hard boiled quails egg
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup broccoli
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups water or as needed ( it depends upon the sotanghon)

Procedure:
1. Soak the sotanghon in a water until soft enough to cut.  Drain and set aside.
2. In a pan or wok saute the garlic and onion, add the shrimps and simmer for a minute,  add the soy sauce simmer for a minute.
3. Add the water and bring to a boil, then add  pepper and salt to taste.
4. Put the broccoli, carrot and sotanghon then  mix well , add the cabbage while stirring so that it wont stick at the bottom.
5. Simmer for a minute then continue stirring until it is cook,  add the quails egg.
6 Serve hot.

Chicken Spaghetti Soup


It was raining and I want to cook chicken macaroni soup but unfortunately elbow macaroni is not available, so I just used the spaghetti. It is still the same procedure with macaroni soup, no need to worry because it is not difficult to cook :).

Ingredients:
200 grams spaghetti
200 grams chicken breast
1 cup evaporated milk
1 carrot ( strips)
1 cup broccoli ( optional)
1 cup cabbage
3 cloves garlic
1 onion
spring onion
salt and pepper to taste

Proceudre:
1. Saute garlic and onion then add the chicken, salt and pepper then simmer for few minutes.
2. Add water that is enough to soup the spaghetti until the cooking is done. Stir occasionally  so that the spaghetti will not stick at the bottom of the pot.
3. When it is almost done, add the broccoli, carrot and cabbage then simmer for few minutes.
4. When the vegetables are done add the milk let it boil once and turn off the heat.
5. Serve it hot and sprinkled with minced spring onion

Oriental Style Bean Sprouts


Oriental style Sauted bean sprouts is one of the best bean sprouts recipes, its fully loaded and the blending of the taste is perfect! For vegetable lovers have a go for this dish, I am very sure that you will like this. :)

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo Bean sprouts
1/4 kilo Shrimps
2 squares tofu ( cubed and fried)
1 carrot ( sliced into strips)
1/2 cup celery stalks
1 red bell pepper
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
salt and pepper to taste
Bean Sprouts

Procedure:
1.Wash the bean sprouts properly and set aside.
2. Saute the garlic and onion, then add the shrimps then simmer for a minute.
3. Add the carrots, bell pepper and celery, then simmer for another minute.
4. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer until done.
5. Turn off the heat and serve it hot.

Prawns with Tomatoes



A friend in the church gave these prawns and I decided to cook it with tomatoes so that it will not take a long time to cook because it is almost dinner time.

Ingredients:
1 kilo prawns
1/2 kilo tomatoes
5 cloves garlic
salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:
1. Saute the garlic then the tomatoes, let simmer until soften.
2. Add salt and pepper to taste then the prawns, simmer until done.
3. Serve hot.

Kinamatisang Isda


 Today is June 20,2013 and I just cooked this kinamatisang isda that is why I added in this post.This time I used salmon.
I cooked this dish for a person who loved soup so much :) I am thankful that I was able to cook for him. This is a savory fish soup.

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo fish fillet
5 tomatoes
2 cayenne pepper or siling haba
1 onion
spring onion
1/4 cup fish sauce (patis)
2 cups water

Procedure:
1. Put all the ingredients in a cooking pot except the water, then cover and let simmer over medium heat.

2. Simmer until the tomatoes are liquify then add the 2 cups of water and let boil and simmer for 5 minutes
then add the spring onions.

3. Continue simmering, add salt if  necessary then serve hot.

Special Lechon Kawali



For  me lechon kawali is one of the best pork belly dishes and easy to do. By using a deep frying pan and oil, the pork belly is roasted until crispy, then served with a delicious dipping sauce.

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo Pork Belly( cut into an inch thick, boiled)
1/4 cup lime or calamansi juice
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 cup sprite (this will make the meat tender)
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
salt to taste



Procedure:
1. Mix all the ingredients, then marinate for few hours or overnight.
2. Deep fry the pork belly until it is cook.
3. Cut into bite size and serve with your favorite sauce. :)

Fried Tilapia Bistek Style


Bored of just fried tilapia? Add a spice to it and turn it into a more delicious dish by having a little twist with it. Chop some onion squeezed a lemon and if bitter melon is available add some, pronto! a new delicious dish is ready to be served. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
3 fried Tilapia
2 onions ( sliced into rings)
1 bitter melon
1/4 cup lemon juice or calamansi
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 cups water
ground pepper ( optional)


Procedure:
1. Saute the onion then add the bitter melon after 2 minutes remove it all and set aside.
2. Pour in the water, soy sauce, ground pepper and lemon juice then let boil, add some sauteed onion and simmer for few minutes.
3. Add the fried tilapia and simmer allowing the fish to be soften, then add the sauteed onion and bitter melon.
4. Simmer for a minute and turn the heat off.
5. Serve it hot.

Cucumber and Ginger Juice and Its Health Benefits

I combined these 2 ingredients because I admire the health benefits of both cucumber and ginger , according to health experts"ginger  works wonders in treatment of everything from cancer to migraine."  Wow, that's amazing!  While cucumber can " help reduce acidity in the body, improving symptoms of ulcers and other disturbances in the body's pH levels." A good juice combination that you must try.

For a glass of cucumber and ginger juice we need the following:
400 grams cucumber
an inch of ginger

 Wash thoroughly then extract the juice and enjoy it.





Pear Juice and Its Health Benefits


One of the yummiest fruit juice that I've ever tasted mmmmmm so refreshing!Aside from this fact, it is also a good source of vitamin C and copper according to the article that I've read. "The World's Healthiest Foods reports that pears are often recommended by health-care practitioners as a hypoallergenic fruit that is less likely to produce an adverse response than other fruits. Pear juice also functions as a mild laxative, helping relieve constipation and keeping bowel movements regular."

For a glass of pear juice we need 2 pears.
Wash very well and slice into quarter to fit in the rim of the juicer, extract the juice and drink.







Red Radish Juice and Its Health Benefits


Juicing radish have an effect in both internal and external parts of our body that's why even if it tastes strong I I included it in my juicing due to the health benefits that we can get from it. Radishes are also good for the liver and stomach. They are rich in roughage, which promotes healthy digestion and excretion. Monggo Bread


This is one of the breads that I like a lot, that is why I tried baking it and it is good, so I thought of sharing it with you, have fun baking.

Ingredients for the dough:
5 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup fresh milk or whole milk (warm)
3 teaspoons yeast
3 eggs 
3/4 cup melted butter


Ingredients for the filling:
2 cups monggo boiled and mashed
2 cups evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter


In a pan combine all the ingredients then cook over medium heat until it become like a jam ( make sure its not soupy. Set aside for filling later.
Meanwhile here is how to prepare the dough .


 Procedure:
1. Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk for 10 minutes ( put the yeast and leave it for 10 minutes then mix)
2. Mix all the dry ingredients, make a well in the middle, then crack the eggs and beat it there.

3. Add the butter and the milk with dissolved yeast.

 4. Mix well, then knead until  the dough is formed put it in the container or big bowl and let rise for 2 hours by covering it with a damp cloth.




 5. After 2 hours knead the dough for a while then slice it, make sure each slice should be around 80 grams to make one serving of bread.

 6. Flatten each portion and put the monggo filling and roll it, make sure each end is well sealed by pressing it.

 7. Then twist it and form it like a knot ( like the picture below) and let it rise for 45 minutes. Brush with beaten egg for a good texture.

8. Preheat the oven for 20 minutes then  bake the bread for 15 minutes or until done at 180C.
9. Serve it with a smile :-)

My low carb Salad

This is a low carb vinaigrette salad, this was my dinner on my 3rd day of losing weight. The spinach is very good for digestion that's why I included it, an ounce of it contains 0 carbohydrates as well as the red radish. This salad including the dressing is just 96 calories, sounds good, right? Go for it and enjoy eating.

Ingredients:
1 red radish
1 apple
1 cup spinach leaves
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
a dash of salt

Procedure:
1. Wash all the ingredients very well.
2. Peel the apple and slice into thin wedges, slice the red radish into rings.
3. Arrange the spinach in a platter, then the apple and red radish.
4. Mix the olive oil and apple cider vinegar then sprinkle on top of a salad
5. Dash it with salt and serve.




Fish and Prawn Curry


I cooked this for some friends in the church and they loved it. Here is the simple recipe of this dish.

Ingredients:
4 prawns
3 slices of fried salmon ( or any fried fish)
1 cup cleaned broccoli
2 tablespoons ginger
2 tablespoons curry powder
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
1 carrot
2 potatoes
2 cups pure coconut milk
2 cups water
salt

Procedure:
1. Saute the ginger for a minute then add the garlic then onion.
2. Add the curry powder and saute for few seconds then add the water, let it boil.
3. Once boiling add the prawns and fish and let simmer for 2 minutes then add the carrot and potatoes, simmer until half cooked.
4. Add the broccoli and simmer until almost done, then add the coconut milk and salt to taste, simmer until done.
5. Serve it hot.

Stir Fried Green Beans and Ground Beef


This is one of my favorite vegetable dishes. Crunchy green beans partnered with ground beef makes the taste perfect!

Ingredients:
300grams green beans (cut slantly)
200grams ground beef
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1 small onion

Green Beans

  Procedure:
1. Saute the onion, then add the ground beef, simmer for few minutes.
2. Add the soy sauce, then increase the heat then add the beans for stir frying.
3. Stir fry for 3-minutes and its done.
4.Serve it hot.

Pancit Canton


Yummy!

Ingredients:
1/4 kilo pancit canton noodles or egg noodles ( cooked and drained)
1/4 kilo chicken ( chopped)
200 grams sweet peas
1 carrot
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup water

Procedure:
1. Saute the garlic and onion then add the chicken and simmer for few minutes.
2. Add the soy sauce, salt and pepper cover for a minute, then mix well.
3. Add the water and bring to a boil then add the carrots ans sweet peas.
4.  When the vegetables are done pour in the pre-cooked pancit canton, then mix well and simmer for a minute.
5. Serve it hot.
